Brian Schweitzer
MT Governor: “Ron Paul Running 5-8% in MT”
The Montana Constitution Party ditched their own candidate and placed Ron Paul on their ballot against his wishes, and it seems that decision will be what decides which major party the state of Montana is carried by.
Gov. Brian Schweitzer In 2012?
The LA Times is reporting that Montana Gov. Brian Schweitzer is taking actions that amount to a major step towards a Presidential Primary run should Obama lose in November. With Obama locked in a dead-heat fight with McCain and the political process for the next cycle expected to begin closer to 2008 than 2012, any actions by up-and-coming politicians in the early states (ie. Iowa & New Hampshire) is legitimate fair game to be looked at through the lenses of 2012.
So what is Brian Schweitzer, the most libertarian Democratic Governor in America, doing to raise eyebrows? After the DNC gave him a national boost by giving him a prime-time speaking spot at their Denver Convention, he will now be the guest of honor for Iowa Senator Tom Harkin’s cookout. While the cookout in and of itself is unimportant in the large scheme of things, the last two guests of honor were Senators John Edwards and Barack Obama, the first of which staked his political ambitions in Iowa and the latter of which took away Senator Hillary Clinton’s aspirations after his Iowa showing.
