Did McCain Just Lose the Election?

If he had a chance, this probably blew it. McCain should have let Obama, Pelosi, and Frank own the Billionaire Bailout. By signing on, he has given them all the cover they need. Everything at his point probably rides on Palin.

Hi,

I’m just getting started with my new blog. Would you want to exchange links on our blog-rolls?

BTW - I’m up to about 100 visitors per day.

Palin could really disappoint. She’s a governor of a state with a very small population. She’s used to keeping the wheels turning, the buses moving and the roads paved, not debating the finer points of FISA modernization. Of course, if Joe Biden seems like he’s beating up on an attractive middle aged woman, that could work in her favor.

Agreed. Palin was Mccain’s hedge bet all along.

“Everything at his point probably rides on Palin.”

If that’s the case, then it really is over.

By all indications McCain should lose this election.

If you haven’t looked into it - take a few minutes to study the Electoral Barometer. You can read about it here…

After watching the first debate, I think McCain is toast. He is a poor communicator. He made virtually no eye contact with Obama. He couldn’t answer a direct question about the lessons of Iraq. Obama fought to at least a tie on foreign policy.

Those are just the surface issues. McCain is horrible on everything from global warming to immigration. But, he is a maverick. He managed to be on the same side as the 208 Representatives who voted on the wrong side of 90% of the population on the bailout. Now, I’m no math whiz, but that doesn’t add up to victory for me.

Can you tell I don’t like McCain? I don’t like Obama any better. But with the economy, McCain’s not-so-brilliant debate performance, and Sarah Palin’s embarrassing interviews, I don’t see how McCain pulls this election out of the fire.

Yes, he blew it.

HA! Must be a bunch of liberals in this arena? Lets respond to the docs question, which is a good one. I called my republican rep and urged her to tell McCain exactly that. Blast the bill and vote against it, no matter what’s in it. With upwards of 90 percent, of even the liberal voter base against it, that position would have scored BIG! It was his perfect opportunity to show he really is different and really would bring change. Inside congressional sources, “according to Fox News,” the “dirty little secret” about the bill floating around congress that all the reps and senators are aware of is… Even when it passes, it will do NOTHING for the immediate housing crisis, the job shortfalls, the rising cost of goods, or anything else that helps the so called “mainstreet” folks. Don’t buy the lies coming out of the representatives and senators mouths, it’s a bailout for the crooks and nothing more! Notice when they argue how bad its needed, they refer to the market? Then when people argue against the bill and point out we just had the third largest day of gain on wall street without the bill, they all say, “well, you can’t look at the markets to analyze this problem. Folks, its time to DUMP THEM ALL. LETS PUT A TERM LIMIT QUESTION ON THE NATIONAL BALLOT! Reps one six year term, senators three, two year terms and no more then 10 years combined, with a FIXED one time payment of a 100,000.00 dollar see ya later retirement package, AND NO OTHER ADDED BENEFITS AFTER LEAVING!

i like the term limit question for the ballot. for every elected official in Washington!

but, hey, let’s be generous with their retirement package, though…

i’d suggest a year stipend equal to about twice the US “poverty level income.”
