Ron Paul Confronts Rice

Yet another reminder how one of the greatest Libertarians, Ron Paul, constantly fights for the American people. This isn’t to increase his profile either - Ron has been working for libertarian principles since he has been in congress. Who else goes into such detail in defense of non-interventionism? No euphemisms for Dr. No.
Condoleezzaa Rice: “We’re not planning, or intending an attack on Iran.”
One of the key statements I picked up from Condi was this:
“Finally as to what we intend to do, when we have a carrier strike group into the Gulf…It’s simply to demonstrate that the US remains determined to defend it’s interests in the Gulf and the interests of it’s Allies. And that Congressman is a position that has been held by American Presidents going back 60 Years.”
60 years of some of the most horrific wars the world has ever seen? That is only the tip of the iceberg as far as what these policies have done to our reputation around the world. I’d highly recommend the books by Chalmers Johnson:

Secretary Rice never questioned or contradicted Congressman Paul’s assertion that the groups Iran support to in Iraq and those allied with or sympathetic with the Shiia Maliki government, whom we are fighting and dying to keep in office. If our troops are being killed with Iranian made weapons, it is because allies of the Maliki government are upset with us, not Al Qaeda or other Sunni extremists the Bush administration asserts we stay in Iraq to fight.
Rice complains of Iranian support for Hezbollah in Lebanon, and complains that Hezbollah “attacked” Israel last year. In fact, Israel reacted to a Hezbollah raid and the capture of an Israeli soldier by launching an outright war against Lebanon, an attack the Lebanese army was incapable of repelling because we won’t give Lebanon the arms they need to defend themselves against the arms we give to Israel. Instead, Hezbollah used the arms it got from Iran to fight the Israelis to a stalemate and Israeli withdrawal, gaining Hezbollah and Iran more credibility with the Lebanese people and the United States more enmity.
This is the result of the cockeyed Middle East policy of President Bush and Secretary Rice.
edit first paragraph of prior note:
Secretary Rice never questioned or contradicted Congressman Paul’s assertion that the groups Iran supports in Iraq are those allied with or sympathetic to the Shiia Maliki government, whom we are fighting and our troops our dying to keep in office. If American soldiers and Marines are being killed with Iranian made weapons, it is because we are being attacked by allies of the Maliki government, not by Al Qaeda or other Sunni extremist groups the Administration asserts it is necessary we stay and fight in Iraq so “we won’t have to fight over here.”
